Reading in Social Studies:
Content Area Reading
Each
unit focuses on Social Studies passages and comprehension questions.
Students are automatically diagnosed when they start, and their
progress or remediation is based on their success with each comprehension
skill. Each comprehensive program has five diagnostic tests (one
for each skill area), five comprehension levels and 100 developmental
activities.
Key
skills covered include main idea, details, vocabulary, sequence,
and inference.
Key
features covered include enabling students to become "active"
readers, individualized instruction with immediate feedback and
positive reinforcement, and highlighting keywords when the student’s
first choice is incorrect
